Tom Shobbrook is a name synonymous with the natural wine movement .As a co-founder of Natural Selection Theory with with Sam Hughes, James Erskine & Anton von Klopper, Tom’s is one of the voices of change in the Australian industry and has been elemental in the shift of international perception of Australian wine and has forged the space that a lot of lo-fi and natural producers operate within now. He is a dreamer and a philosopher.

After 12 years farming organically on his family vineyard in Seppeltsfield, Tom moved in to his current home and estate in the Flaxman Valley and embraced, as he puts it, “living on a farm on a hill” beautifully since. He’s planted a vineyard, built a winery and barrel room and is working with estate vines propagated on the farm before planting. Tom continues to produce wines from old vines from Vine Vale.

Tom picks earlier than most in the Barossa, ferments in open one ton flex tanks, 500L ceramic eggs and wood of varying format. All wines are naturally fermented, seeing no acidification or other additions and are neither fined, filtered or sulphured.
